So I keep seeing these blogs where people post like the 25 songs they’ve played the most on iTunes. Now since getting an iPod I don’t listen to music through iTunes anymore – has a tendency to pause too much. However there doesn’t seem to be a way to find your most played on the iPod so I guess I’ll go through my main iTunes list – ignore the play lists – and see which ones I played the most. I’m going to go over the top 25 as well just cause I feel like it!
A Little Less Conversation – Elvis Presley & JLX
Every Breath You Take – The Police
How Deep Is Your Love – The Bee Gees (aka The Brothers Gibb)
Sam’s Song – Sammy Davis Jr & Dean Martin
You’re Looking Hot Tonight – Barry Manilow
Me & My Shadow – Frank Sinatra & Sammy Davis Jr
Beautiful Music – Barry Manilow
Swinging On A Star – Bing Crosby
Something’s Gotta Give – Sammy Davis Jr
I Wanna Be Loved – The Andrews Sisters
I’m You’re Man – Barry Manilow
Moonlight Becomes You – Bing Crosby
This Is Fine – Barry Manilow
Love Me Or Leave Me – Sammy Davis Jr
Shoo Shoo Baby – The Andrews Sisters
Rum And Coca-Cola – The Andrews Sisters
Brooklyn Blues – Barry Manilow
Viva Las Vegas – Elvis Presley
Surrender – Elvis Presley
The Lady Is A Tramp – Frank Sinatra
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy – The Andrews Sisters
Big City Blues – Barry Manilow & Mel Torme (I don’t know how to do that special little e thingie.)
Moonlight Cocktail – Glenn Miller
Too Close For Comfort – Sammy Davis Jr
The Birth Of The Blues – Sammy Davis Jr
It’s Not Unusual – Tom Jones
At The Dance – Barry Manilow
Jump Shout Boogie – Barry Manilow
I Made It Through The Rain – Barry Manilow
Raining In My Heart – Buddy Holly
Listen To Me – Buddy Holly
Lookin’ Out My Back Door – CCR
Ain’t That A Kick In The Head – Dean Martin
Sittin’ On Top Of The World – Dean Martin
Sway – Dean Martin
I think 35 is enough, actually.
Like I said though, I don’t listen to music on iTunes since getting my iPod. I add songs, yes, obviously. But it’s my iPod I listen to them on. So if one were to find my most played on my iPod – if I knew how – the list wound be very different in places. Barry Manilow’s songs would probably be on the top of the list, especially Beautiful Music and It’s A Long Way Up. Sammy Davis Jr would be next – mostly I Gotta Be Me, Something’s Gotta Give, Happy Ending, and Love Me Or Leave Me. Then Buddy Holly’s Raining In My Heart, Elvis’ Viva Las Vegas (every time I see that damn Viagra commercial I have to listen to that song to purge the words “viva Viagra” out of my head), Glenn Miller’s Chattanooga Choo Choo (my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE) – I don’t know what else. I also happen to have on there Etta James, Billie Holiday, Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Crawford, Neil Diamond, Benny Goodman, Louis Armstrong, Harry James – and a bunch of others.
I love my iPod. I joke to people that “It’s proof I do listen to people other then Barry Manilow” – I just don’t listen to anyone my people my own age listen to. I always said I was born in the wrong era. I should’ve been born long enough ago I could’ve danced to Glenn Miller’s music while he was alive.
