People are always stereotyping republicans as close minded bigots. It’s really not true. Granted, there are republicans I’d like to punch in the face and truth be told I am not happy with everything my party does. If I could I’d like to take the good stuff from each party and throw out all the crap and form an entirely new party.
I’m a republican for one reason – Because republicans in charge tend to be tougher on sex crimes then democrats.
Democrats (in charge, not the average democrat on the street) tend to be “Let’s try and rehabilitate and be nice to the pedophile” – nevermind that it’s a proven fact that you cannot cure a pedophile. You could fully physically castrate them and they will STILL molest children. The ONLY thing that stops a pedophile is death.
Rapists get a lot of sympathy from democrats in power.
In the end the victims get punished, not the victimizers.
Republicans are all about locking up these perverts and losing the key. Getting the victims justice and punishing the evil perverts.
I think the defining moment that made me decide to be a republican came as a kid. I was watching this news report. It happened not long after the McMartin Preschool Trial. I can’t remember all the details because I was young. I just remember that police officers in one state had set up a sting on people whom buy child porn. This was back when the news was news and not opinion diguised as news. So they made clear that the porn in question was suppose to be “staring” a 5 year old GIRL raped by a grown man. It was suppose to be a mail order video. The newscasters inverviewed the senator of the state in question. She was a democrat with short brown hair and she nastily said that she was angry at the police for doing this because “They’re targeting homosexual males.”
I didn’t realize gay men like porno about little GIRLS being raped.
In one fell swoop this ignornat bitch made it look like all homosexuals were pedophiles. (Studies prove that 95% of pedophiles are straight white men, straight men of minorities being the next biggest precentage, and homosexuals and women being the smallest.) She also said it was not alright to try and take pedophiles off the street.
*face palm* Stupid ignorant bitch.
This is what would eventually shape my choices in life and why I became a republican.
I believe that the statues of limitations on rape need to be removed. That it should be treated just like murder. If you were raped at 5 and you’re now 40 and they can prove that this person is the one who raped you, they should be convicted of the crime same as if they had murdered you. Period.
In a way, rape is a form of murder.
I was sexually assaulted repeatedly by a group of boys in jr. high. I never told anyone until I was 26. That combined with what many doctors did to me because of my chronic bladder and kidney troubles have left me screwed up. I’m starting to wonder now if my weight isn’t self inflicted as a way to keep myself from being intimate with a man. Because I feel so dirty all the time. So worthless.
That’s why I’m a republican. I’m not always happy with my party but in the end, they’re tougher on crime and that’s what matters the most to me.
